St. Francis of Assisi School celebrated 77th Independence Day with great pomp and grandeur. The school campus atmosphere was filled with patriotic fervor. The guests were welcomed with the school band to the stage. The chief guest Rev. Dr. Davis Vithayathil from God’s city, Kerala hoisted the flag in the presence of guests of honour Rev. Fr. Anish Cleetus, Kerala, Rev. Fr. Vincent D’souza, Director of Vimukti, Chikodi, Principal Rev. Fr. Jeson Fernandez, teachers, students and parents. Then all saluted the flag and sang National Anthem together. After that the students performed the March-past with their squad flags to pay tribute to the motherland ‘INDIA’ and demonstrated their patriotic zeal.
A cultural program was held in the Assisi premises where students of all classes participated. In their dances, folklore, enactment, speeches and songs, they emphasized the value of sacrifice, hard work, honesty, commitment, sincerity, thirst for freedom and true patriotic spirit. The chief guest gave an inspiring message to all, “To have a dream for India and focus on the development of country”. At the end, sweets were distributed to all.
