The Regional Transport Office, Chikodi organized a seminar on “Awareness on Air Pollution” to 6th std to 10th std students on 9th November 2023 in the Assisi auditorium. As a chief guest and guest of honour Mrs. Omkareshwari, Joint Commissioner for Transport, Belgaum division and Mr Vishal G. P., Regional Transport Officer, Chikodi were welcomed by the school children. A seminar began with invoking the name of the Almighty God through a prayer dance. After this, Chief guest Mrs. Omkareshwari addressed the gathering and spoke about the air pollution that is taking place in our country, cities and villages. As a citizen of the world it is everyone’s responsibility to control the air pollution, so that we may have good air to breathe every moment of our lives. In today’s world vehicles are the main cause for the air pollution. Therefore, it better to use electrical vehicles to reduce the pollution in our surroundings. She advised the students not use crackers during the Diwali festival. Further, Mr Vishal G.P., RTO of Chikodi stated the diseases, disadvantages of air pollution. The measures to control the air pollution and our responsibility towards environment and future generation was highlighted in his talk. Children were grateful for the new insights given by these two eminent personalities
