Diwali celebration was organized with great joy in St Francis of Assisi school on 10th November 2023, in the evening. The entire school campus was decorated with diyas (lamps) and lights, it was a feast to the eyes. At 3pm Competions, Diya for 1st std to 5th std and Rangoli for 6th std to 10th std students were held. Students participated very enthusiastically in these competitions. The programme started at 6pm with prayer dance and lighting of lamp. The Chief guest Dr Sandhya Sanjay Patil, Diya hospital, Chikodi, Guests of hounour Fr Rajkishor Kindo MSFS from Orissa, Fr Pradeep MSFS, principal of St Francis de Sales, Kadgoa, Maharastra, Fr Vincent D’souza OFM Cap., Fr Jeson Fernandes school prinicipal and SPL Jagruti Hukkeri of the School inaugurated the programme by bursting the paper crackers. Students in their speeches and dances beautifully exhibited the significance of Diwali and scene from Ramayana i.e. “When Ram Ji conquers and kills the demon king Ravana in an epic battle and returns to Ayodhya with Mother Sita”. Chief guest of the day Dr Sandhya scientifically explained the importance of each day of Diwali celebration. Her thought provoking speech was highly appreciated by the gathered audience in the Assisi campus. “Lucky Children of Diwali” was conducted and prizes were distributed. Meanwhile, Diwali sweets were distributed to all the students and parents who were present for the programme. After this, Nursery to 10th std., ‘Diwali Damaka’ fire works was conducted. In this each student was given variety of crackers to burst. Every student enjoyed by bursting the crackers in the Assisi campus. This view captivated parents and teachers faces glee with smiles.
